Jack Davies is an improvising trumpet player and composer with a background in both jazz and classical music.

Having completed his classical studies at the Royal Northern College of Music, Jack took up his place on the prestigious Jazz Masters course at the Royal Academy of Music.

Whilst at college Jack won several awards, including the Royal Northern College of Music's solo brass competition, the Goronwy Evans Brass Prize, the Terence Greaves Prize for Big Band Composition and the Principal's Prize for Improvisation (a competition judged by Sir John Dankworth).

As a band leader, projects include the Jack Davies Quintet, Southbound, Flea Circus and the Jack Davies Big Band, with performances at the London Jazz Festival, the Manchester Jazz Festival, the Kongsberg Jazz Festival (Norway) and performances across the UK.

Jack promotes Jazz @ the North London Tavern and is also founder of V&V Music, an independent music label.
